Mackenzie Hughes

Hughes makes his debut in the Nedbank Golf Challenge and heads to Sun City as a two-time winner on the PGA Tour.

The former number one Canadian amateur turned professional in 2012 and a year later won the PGA Tour Canada Order of Merit with a victory that year.

After a victory on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2016, Hughes won twice on the PGA Tour, with both of these victories coming in playoffs. This earned him the rare achievement of having won on the PGA Tour Canada, the Korn Ferry Tour and the PGA Tour.

This year he had six top-10s on the PGA Tour, with a highest finish of tied third in the Valspar Championship.

His Major Championship performances in 2024 saw a top finish of tied 16th in The Open Championship.

His parents took him to the driving range with them from the age of seven, but his dream was to play ice hockey in the NHL.
