Jesse Clegg, the Martin Bester band, big-screen Springbok rugby, the return of “Africa’s Mini Major” putting competition, and even a BMX and skateboarding extravaganza are what Nedbank Golf Challenge fans can look forward to in a bumper line-up of entertainment and activations at this year’s showpiece from 10-13 November.

The 40th edition of one of the flagship sports events in South Africa will be a magical mix of world-class golf and world-class entertainment in a Hospitality Village that will redefine the golf experience in celebration of this milestone year in the illustrious history of “Africa’s Major”.

There will be live entertainment daily in the Hospitality Village from Thursday to Sunday, beginning at 16:00 daily and 15:00 on the final day and including top DJs and local musicians as well as a live screening of the rugby Test between the Springboks and France.

“Africa’s Mini Major” putting competition is also back this year after a successful debut in 2019. The competition will include a seven-hole putt-putt course with holes located in various positions around the Gary Player Country Club. By registering on the Nedbank Golf Challenge App to create a player ID, spectators will go from hole-to-hole and be able to test their skills against each other over the four days of the tournament. Each day there will be a live leaderboard on the App and the fans who end the day tied in first place will have a putting playoff on the iconic ninth green after play to decide the day’s champion. The daily winners of the Thursday, Friday and Saturday competitions will go through to the grand finale that will take place on the 18th green after the final round of the tournament on Sunday, and in front of the thousands of spectators in the grandstands around the green.

Those who enjoy a bit more adrenalin in their sport can enjoy the Ramp Rodeo BMX & Skate series which will feature South Africa's top action sport athletes competing on a huge OSP RampWorX demo half pipe in daily performances in the Hospitality Village.

A few of the other standout activations include the Klipdrift BarberClub where fans can treat themselves to a complimentary sharp cut and a fresh cocktail in the tradition of the popular Unklipped series on YouTube.

The Stella Pop-Up Café and Frites Artois Experience will also be back, as well as the Stella Extreme Putting Challenge where fans can win the chance to compete in the challenge and the 10 closest puts will qualify for the daily final and a shot at amazing prizes.

SunBet will also be on-site to not only offer excellent odds on the golf, but also give punters the chance to win an all-inclusive weekend of golf at Sun City and other amazing prizes when they take part in the Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive challenges in the SunBet Virtual Reality Golf Simulator.

And golf fans will also be able to play their part in growing the game they love with the new DP World golf ball container. DP World has collected used golf balls from around the world on the DP World Tour this season and placed them all in a bespoke shipping container that will be on-site at the Nedbank Golf Challenge. By contributing their own unwanted golf balls, South African golf fans will be donating specifically to the South African Disabled Golf Association (SADGA) as well as other worthy golf organisations worldwide as part of growing the game globally.

It's the biggest week in sport and entertainment at Sun City, with something for everyone.
