Opening swing announced for 2025 season

The DP World Tour today announces its ‘Opening Swing’ for the 2025 season, featuring five tournaments in the southern hemisphere.

The 2025 Race to Dubai will begin with the BMW Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane from November 21-24, 2024, the first of two consecutive events which are co-sanctioned with the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia. It will be followed by the ISPS Handa Australian Open which takes place at Kingston Heath Golf Club and Victoria Golf Club in Melbourne from November 28 – December 1.

From Australia, the DP World Tour moves to South Africa for the return of the Nedbank Golf Challenge in honour of Gary Player which takes place at Gary Player Country Club in Sun City from December 5-8.

The Opening Swing then concludes with two consecutive events which are co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour: the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek Country Club, Malelane, from December 12-15; followed by the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at Mont Choisy Le Golf from December 19-22.

Introduced for the first time in 2024, the Opening Swing is the first of five Global Swings which form Phase One of the DP World Tour’s global schedule. Each Global Swing has its own identity and its own champion, with exemptions into Rolex Series events and the second phase of the season – ‘the Back 9’- also available. Players will then compete in the ‘Back 9’ events to secure their places in the season-ending DP World Tour Play-offs.

The DP World Tour’s full 2025 global schedule will be announced later this year.
