There was a South African flavor to Gary Player’s #StrokeofGenius in the third round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

And it went to his fellow Masters champion – Charl Schwartzel.

Schwartzel holed his chip shot on the par-four sixth hole for a remarkable birdie that had the local fans cheering wildly.

“You’ve got to come up and over the mound. The green falls away from slopes right to left fast...and he chips it in...He would’ve given anything to get down in two,” said Player.

It was another absorbing day. Scott Jamieson finished the day with a one-stroke lead over Frenchman Victor Dubuisson.

Branden Grace finished the day as the leading South African on five under and alongside former Nedbank Golf Challenge champion Martin Kaymer.

“There were a lot of good shots. It was very difficult to choose, but that’s my choice,” said Player.
