Danny Willett

Willett returns as the 2014 winner of the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

The popular Englishman and son of a father who was a church vicar and a mother who was a teacher reached the pinnacle of the game when he won the 2016 Masters. The victory, which came a week after the birth of his first child, carried him into the top 10 on the Official World Golf Ranking. He was also the first British golfer to don the famed green jacket since Nick Faldo in 1996.

Willett won his first DP World Tour title in the 2012 BMW International Open, and celebrated by proposing to his girlfriend Nicole.

He has won eight times on the DP World Tour. His last victory came in the 2021 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, and on the day of his 34th birthday.

Willett was long tipped for success after a stellar amateur career in which he won the English Amateur Championship in 2007, played in the 2007 Walker Cup and rose to become the number one ranked amateur in the world.
